Kindle Voyage: New eBook Reader from Amazon – Chip Online

Without big announcements Amazon has introduced a new member of his family EBook Reader: Amazon Kindle Voyage. The biggest difference to the current Kindle Paperwhite is the higher screen resolution. So the Voyage now reached 300 ppi, instead of the usual 212 ppi (pixels per inch)

In practice this means for you. Letters are resolved more finely and now look a bit crisper than the currently available Paperwhite. The dimensions have changed slightly: The new model is slightly smaller and more compact and also weighs 20 grams less again. Everything remains the same in display technology: Amazon continues to use an e-ink display with an active lighting that allows reading in low light conditions. A light sensor automatically adjusts the brightness. New books will be delivered via WiFi or 3G module easily and conveniently from the Amazon store. A PC is not required.

The new Kindle Voyage costs 189 euros, for the model with free 3G wireless you have to pay 249 euros. The new models are available from 4 November.
