Samsung and Google takes on Amazon: Music (hub) for all

With his e-book readers, the Amazon Kindle series has been extremely successful. One of the reasons for the success is certainly the E-Ink display, which behaves more like paper from the reading behavior, because as a classic screen.

On the other hand, there are the tablets of the Amazon Kindle Fire series. Also, these devices are selling like hot cakes. While traditional LCDs come here used, but the low price in combination with the deep integration of Amazon’s multimedia offering convincing million customers.

As The Digital Reader reports, Amazon has now bought Liquavista. With the acquisition, it is the book giant may soon be possible to combine the advantages of both classes. The company previously related to Samsung is in fact dedicated to the production of color e-ink displays. In contrast to most currently used e-ink displays the Liquavista ads are also fast enough to display video.

Samsung had Liquavista itself only incidentally taken abo ut two years ago. However, it seems that e-ink displays now simply no longer fit into the strategy of the Koreans. As expected, the retail price of almost $ 100 million, Bloomberg suggested Samsung come in handy.

Do you already have an e-book reader, or Kindle? And if not, a color display makes the device interesting for you – especially if the speed is sufficient for the representation of videos? We welcome comments
