Kindle Console is: Amazon buys Double Helix - CBTech

Chris Angel | On 07, February 2014

The largest online retailer in the world, Amazon has fired a takeover speculation about his own gaming console. With the purchase of the game developer Double Helix Games Amazon could collect great experience when it comes after rumors already for the Christmas season to bring an Amazon console on the market.

Whether developing a Kindle Console is progressing so rapidly, is questionable. According to media reports, Amazon will distribute the first prototypes first in late June to testers. Currently, the biggest problem is the software of the console. Whether Amazon now but relies on Google’s Android or on its own system itself seems not yet been clarified in the company.

Double Helix Games since 2007 produced blockbuster hits including Battleship, Killer Instinct or GI Joe: The Rise of Cobra. According to Amazon, the direction of the company should not change in the future as well. Instead, we wanted to present, in cooperation with other developers “more innovative” games.

Amazon (Kindle) console optimistic rumored to already be published for Christmas this year. TechCrunch talks about a price of 300 U.S. dollars. All messages to the console, you can find Amazon Kindle as usual on the topic page
