The Swiss distributor has its ImCoSys published in December Android Reader Imcov6l via firmware update retrofitted an important new feature. On the six-incher also Kindle books can now be read – but with a somewhat antiquated App
.
At the Frankfurt Book Fair we had the ImCoSys Imcov6l the first time in their hands. Conceived by Swiss intermediaries ImCoSys e-ink device stands out with an extraordinary wide range of functions from its device class. Thus, the unit 2 × 2 tactile music keys next to the Pearl E-ink HD Panel (1024x758px), on the back also is still a speaker.
The operating system is Android 2.3.1 for use. This had been already apps like Moon Reader and e-book flat rate Skoobe installable, but not the Kindle app. This function have upgraded with a firmware update released today, Monday the Swiss. That was ImCoSys even a press release value.
Runs but is not about the current Kindle app, but the published already almost two years prior to version 3.5.1.1, it is noted in our forum. Functions such as X-Ray you can not expect therefore accordingly. Another much lamented flaw that only very coarse adjustable font sizes, however, was not cleaned up.
Although the ImCoSys Imcov6l for e-readers ratios is quite fast and an open Google Android brings, the unit is far away from the functionality of current tablets. Google Play there is not (but alternative app stores), due to the old version of Android running many current apps out of round or not at all. Who wants to read carefully Kindle Books and DRM-protected epub files on the same e-ink device, for which there is (without root) is currently no alternative to ImCoSys Imcov6l. Interested in our forum is recommended where now some owners have shared their experiences with the device. The only known to us German distributor is readerkontor.de where the device costs 110 euros (RRP: € 99).
